WE ARE IN NEED OF THERAPISTS IN ALL AREAS OF KENT. PLEASE CONTACT US IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN WORKING FOR THE TRUST
We currently have over 120 therapists working for us throughout Kent, and have treated over 2000 beneficiaries since the Trust started in 2010. Whilst the majority of patients referred to us are living with cancer we do work with people coping with a range of serious chronic illness which may not necessarily be terminal.
We can only accept therapists whose practices are acceptable by the NHS as all our referrals come to us from GPs, Oncology Departments, Senior Clinical Nurses, Macmillan etc. This is not a comment on how we view our therapies, as of course we are aware that many of the lesser known treatments have shown to be very effective for individuals. Therefore, we list below some of the therapies that the NHS recognise may be beneficial.
Reflexology, Reiki, Healing, Aromatherapy, Massage, Cranial Osteopathy, Indian Head Massage, Hypnotherapy, RLD, MLD, Stress Management, Counselling, Acupuncture, CBT, IBX Nail Treatment.
You will be working on a self employed basis. We ask you to donate your first treatment free of charge and every sixth treatment thereafter. Donated treatments are per session, not per beneficiary. We pay £20 per treatment. On completion of consultation and treatments we would ask you to forward all copies to our Admin Office, together with your invoice, we pay by BACS, so please submit your bank details. We pay travelling expenses of 22 pence per mile, in excess of 10 miles per session if you have to visit the client-patient.
You will normally be visiting beneficiaries in their homes, but some therapists have a therapy room, which can be more beneficial as it takes them away from "their home of illness".
We would also ask you to organise at least one fundraising event per year to help the Trust with much needed funds.
If you are interested in joining the Trust, please download the Therapists application form and submit to our Admin Office, together with 2 passport sized photos, certificates, certificates of insurance and proof of identity i.e. driving licence or passport. We will also require a basic DBS Certificate. We never know which part of the County referrals will come from, so we can't predict how many referrals you are likely to receive. It may be some time before you receive your first referral.
We do like to meet with new therapists, so we will arrange an informal meeting at a mutually convenient time with our Chair and Therapist Trustee. These meetings take place at various venues around the county.
I thank you for your interest. Should you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
